Dressing up is HUGE in Japan, whether its Gothic Lolita style, Ganguro, J-pop or as Anime, Manga and Game characters, expressing itself with the way you dress is where it’s at!
Cosplay literally means “Costume-Play” and is a hobby that’s become popular around the world!
With many attendees coming to JapanEX London dressed as their favourite characters the event is set to be full of colour and life.

COSPLAY PARADE:
Got a costume old or new? Like dressing up in EGL or as your favourite J-Popers? Enter The Parade!
The Parade is a catwalk open to anyone in costume. Taking place on Saturday morning and during the Sunday afternoon Masquerade, sign up at the cosplay desk and strut your stuff on our stage.
Sundays competition will be open to all costumes whether they have been entered at a previous expo event or not. Entrants still need to be the participants own work as opposed to commissioned or bought
Please note: you cannot request or supply your own music for the parade.
Register for the Parade at the Cosplay desk ON THE DAY, As the show is in the morning make sure to arrive early!

MASQUERADE:
This is your chance to really show off! Whether you like dressing up in costume or just want to watch, with walk on entrants and short performances the masquerade offers entertainment for all.
The masquerade is a costume competition that will take place on the main stage in the afternoon of both days and there are some great prizes to be won for the most talented entrants!
If you have a costume but don’t want to compete, remember; you can take part in The Parade
The masquerade is sponsored by ADV Film and TokyoToys.
Due to the popularity of the Masquerade places fill up fast, if you would like to take part in the Masquerade you have to Pre-Register online!
ON THE DAY MASQUERADE REGISTRATION
There will be NO on the day registration for the Masquerade. Instead you can take part in the Parade. As the Parade is in the morning, come early and sign up at the cosplay desk.
ADVANCE MASQUERADE REGISTRATION
To register in advance, please fill out the 'Masquerade Entry Form (link to download the form can found to the top right of the page) and send it by email to cosplay@mcmexpo.net Masquerade entry opens on the 24th June and closes on the 15th July 2007, please do not try to enter outside of these times as they will not be admitted.
Please remember that all skits MUST provide their own music in advance, we do not supply any music other than a standard number of tracks that will be played for walk on entrants.
FACILITIES FOR COSPLAYERS:
MCM Expo offer dedicated changing rooms available to Cosplayers both Male & Female, a storage area will also be available where you can leave luggage up to the size of a small suitcase or a single weekend case, once luggage is left it must remain secure throughout the event, we can not allow continual retrieval of items throughout the day or days of the event so please keep anything that you wish to use on a regular basis with you.
Items are left at MCM Expos discretion and can be refused, we will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to items, when you hand in the item that you want to store it will be placed in a black bag and secured until you return. Once taken out of the storage area the luggage can not be returned in the same day.
